The oligarchy is on full display — we need more working-class leaders in Congress willing to fight back.

John, by now you’ve probably seen or heard about the massive fallout between Donald Trump and Elon Musk…

The two billionaires are brawling over social media, arguing about how much money to rip away from poor and working-class people in the GOP spending bill.

In one of his tweets attacking Trump, Musk took credit for getting him elected and helping Republicans win the Senate — openly admitting the influence his nearly $300 million worth of campaign contributions had in the 2024 elections and suggesting Trump would have lost without him. The richest man in the world was, in fact, the top individual donor to Republicans last cycle.

Moments like this prove exactly why we need to overturn Citizens United and get dark money out of our political system: billionaires like Elon Musk shouldn't be calling the shots and using their wealth to pass policies that will make themselves richer at the expense of the working class.

Screenshot of a post on X by Robert Reich (@RBReich), reading: 'Look beyond Trump and Musk's public blowout to the bigger problem: the infiltration of Big Money in our politics. It has corrupted our democracy — creating a vicious cycle that funnels more wealth and power to those at the top while drowning out the needs of regular Americans.'

The Democratic Party should go all-in on rejecting money from super PACs and ending Citizens United once and for all, but we know too many are unwilling to give up the campaign checks from billionaires and corporate interests.

That’s why we desperately need more progressive, working-class representation in Congress — people like Summer Lee, Ilhan Omar, and the rest of the Squad, who all reject corporate PAC money.

Help us achieve that in 2026 by pitching in $5 or more today: your donation will directly fuel our work to recruit and elect bold leaders with working-class backgrounds to take on Trump, Musk, and the billionaire class.
