One of the toughest questions I get is, “What do we do when some people just don’t share the same reality?”

What do we do when our parents or friend or neighbor only watch FOX News, or get their information from Facebook algorithms, or listen to Joe Rogan as if he is an authority on everything?

John, we can not deprogram every friend or family member who believes the lies.

We can do our research, stay curious, and always question who benefits from the lies and misinformation we see out in the wild.

That is why I speak up and share accurate information and tools with my friends. Small acts like sharing articles from reputable sources with your community or engaging in meaningful conversations with your neighbors can go a long way in reestablishing a shared reality, and in defending the truth.
