John, this far-right hate group helped incite the deadly January 6th insurrection – and now, they’re suing to make YOU pay them $100 million for it.
You read that right: Five leaders of the Proud Boys – who were convicted by a jury of their peers after trying to overthrow our democracy – are now claiming that they are the victims and are suing the Department of Justice (DOJ). [1]
They’re hoping that Trump – who called January 6th a “day of love” [2] – and his loyalists will hand them millions of our tax dollars to spread more chaos, more violence, and more hate. We can’t let it happen.

The DOJ should spend its budget to protect us – to stop violent, organized hate groups like the Proud Boys from terrorizing our communities.
But if we don’t speak out now, that money could instead end up going towards white supremacist assemblies and recruitment, all on the public dime.
Remember, President Trump already violated his oath of office hours after he took it – when he pardoned thousands of January 6th rioters on his inauguration day.
But letting this lawsuit succeed would be even worse. It would be the government itself endorsing their crimes – and rewarding them with $100 million in taxpayer cash to finance the next wave of extreme far-right violence.
John, anyone who believes their rights were violated deserves their day in court. But we need the Department of Justice to defend this case vigorously and ensure not one cent goes to the Proud Boys. Not for their hate. Not for their violence. Not for their attack on our country.
Tell Attorney General Pam Bondi: Fight back against this lawsuit. Don’t give the Proud Boys a single dime of taxpayer money.
