John,
The 2025 legislative session is officially in the books, and Connecticut Democrats didn’t just show up; we showed the country what real leadership looks like.
While other states may be slashing social services, Democrats in Connecticut passed a balanced two-year budget that invests half a billion dollars in public education, expands access to free childcare, addresses climate change, and supports the working families who keep our communities strong.
And we did it all without raising taxes on working and middle-class families.
Because of grassroots supporters like you, we elected and supported Democrats who got to work and delivered for Connecticut. Together, we passed an agenda that puts working families first and invests in our future.
Here’s a quick look at some of what we accomplished together:
Transformed childcare : Connecticut Democrats are once again leading the nation, this time taking on the high cost of child care. The new Child Care Endowment will pay the cost of infant, toddler and pre-K for families in Connecticut earning up to $100,000, and dramatically cut those costs for everyone else. We’re creating more spots and making sure child care workers get better pay. This is a game-changer for families struggling with rising costs.
Tackled the housing crisis: To grow, Connecticut needs more housing. The new law Democrats passed will encourage cities and towns to build the housing we need, make sure rents are fair, lower costs of construction, and more. Democrats are making the changes we need to help our state, and its economy, grow.
Lowered high energy bills: CT families and businesses will save more than $300 million each year on electric bills, thanks to the hard work of Democrats this year. We’re also making sure we can meet the energy demands of tomorrow without driving up costs.
Ensured access to reproductive care: Connecticut is unwavering in its commitment to patient dignity, privacy, and access to essential care. This year, Democrats established clear confidentiality protections for young people who need contraceptive and pregnancy-related care, allowing providers to treat all patients who need it.
None of this happens without you. Our movement is unstoppable because our supporters are unstoppable. It’s your voice and your contributions that elect our leaders and create the wave of change that protects and empowers our communities.
Thank you for standing with us!
Sincerely,
Sarah Locke
