John, today is National Gun Violence Awareness Day, kicking off Wear Orange Weekend. Across the country, Americans will be wearing orange to commemorate the lives lost to gun violence.

It shouldn’t be controversial to say that more must be done to protect all Americans, children, and students from gun violence. Will you add your name now to support my fight for common-sense gun laws?

We need to take action and protect every American from unnecessary gun violence. It simply is not right that an individual can fire over 1,100 rounds from an assault weapon in under 11 minutes, resulting in 58 deaths and nearly 900 injuries.

Too many lives have been lost, and we can’t wait until the next tragedy to take action.
