Over the weekend, a Senator held a town hall where a major topic was their budget bill. When a constituent said that people were going to die as a result of the Medicaid cuts, she said, "Well, we all are going to die" with a smile. Facing a justified uproar, the same Senator later doubled down and said in a video:
"I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize for a statement that I made yesterday at my town hall. I made an incorrect assumption that everyone in the auditorium understood that yes, we are all going to perish from this Earth," she continued, adding that she's glad she didn't have to bring up the subject of the tooth fairy.
