Hi John — Here’s something you may not know about me: I’m gay.

Pride Month is meant to be a celebration — of queerness, of resilience, of living our truth out loud. But in 2025, it feels more like a warning.Republicans aren’t just attacking LGTBQIA+ people with harmful rhetoric — they’re turning it into law. Since Trump took office again this year, here’s what they’ve done:• They banned gender-affirming care for trans kids (including adults) in over 20 states.• They erased federal recognition of transgender people.• They banned trans girls from school sports nationwide.• They’re trying to remove Pride flags in schools, libraries, and government buildings.• They’re pushing laws forcing trans people to use the wrong bathrooms.• They’re cutting LGBTQIA+ suicide prevention funding from the 988 crisis line.• They’re gutting DEI programs and blocking LGBTQ+ history in schools.• They’re allowing red states like Iowa to strip civil rights protections for trans people entirely. This isn’t just a rollback of rights — it’s a full-blown assault on our humanity. The Voter Protection Project is fighting back by working to defeat Republican anti-LGTBQIA+ extremists by replacing them with Democrats who will protect LGTBQIA+ people — and the democracy we depend on. If you believe in that mission, will you chip in this Pride Month to help us fight back? ([link removed])

Here’s the truth: Over 80% of Americans support laws that protect LGBTQIA+ people from discrimination. But Republicans don’t care what the majority wants — they’re suppressing votes, gerrymandering districts, and silencing entire communities just to cling to power and force their hate-filled agenda on the rest of us.They know they can’t win fairly, so they’re rigging the system to strip us of our rights — one bill, one vote, one voice at a time.I’m tired of watching my community be vilified, erased, and attacked just for simply existing. If you are too, now’s the time to act. Help us organize, protect the vote, and defeat these extremists at the ballot box — before they do even more damage. ([link removed])

With pride and resolve,
