This is not who we are, John.
What happened at a San Diego restaurant on Friday can’t happen again.
Immigration agents swarmed in. They handcuffed the entire staff. All to check paperwork for undocumented workers. No one was violent. And yet, federal agents treated it like a military raid.
This was about fear and intimidation. There is no evidence that anyone working at the restaurant was a violent criminal. It’s part of a broader plan by Stephen Miller to deport as many people as possible – even those who are contributing positively to our economy and society.
Miller has set a quota to deport 3,000 people a day. Not based on facts. Not based on justice. Just an arbitrary number. A political talking point. Even those showing up to court and trying to follow the law.
We can’t let that become our new normal. If you agree, please join me:
Add your name now to condemn and demand an end to Stephen Miller’s planned mass deportations.
This fight is personal to me. My mom’s parents came here from Mexico with nothing but hope. My grandfather arrived at 15, with no money, no formal education, and no English. He worked hard, started a small business, and eventually sent all four of his daughters to college.
Their youngest grandson – me – now serves in the House of Representatives.
That’s the American dream. Let’s keep it alive for future generations.
Mike
