Friend, We never wanted to have to send an email like this during Pride Month, but we cannot stay silent. As a steadfast supporter of our work, can you take a moment to add your name to show that you stand with the LGBTQ+ community — and against hate in all its forms? The anti-LGBTQ+ movement is the strongest it’s been in decades. The far right’s efforts to erase this vibrant community are chilling — from slashes to federal diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives to massive cuts to grants that support LGBTQ+ medical research and launching legislative attacks in the Deep South that demonize transgender communities. I know you share our outrage. Thanks to your support, the Southern Poverty Law Center continues to fight for LGBTQ+ justice, eradicate extremist movements and work toward a more inclusive and forward-thinking society, where diversity is truly valued. Friend, the time to act is now: Add your name if you agree that y’all means ALL — and that no one, no matter who they are or who they love, should ever live in fear for their safety.

The SPLC has a track record of fighting for LGBTQ+ communities across the country — winning landmark cases, publishing reports exposing anti-LGBTQ+ hate, defeating bad legislation and working in community to resist hate and build political power. In 2015, we won a first-of-its-kind lawsuit against an organization that fraudulently claimed to "convert" gay individuals to straight. The case was brought after three people were harmed by its discredited, dangerous and debunked practice known as conversion therapy.
In 2024, alongside partners, we sued the Cobb County, Georgia, school district for firing Katie Rinderle, a fifth-grade gifted teacher, for reading an age-appropriate book to her students about self-acceptance and navigating gender stereotypes.
Still, we have our work cut out for us. But with your help, we can dissolve anti-LGBTQ+ groups and the ideas that have inspired them to act. Add your name today and join the movement for a more inclusive and just community.
