Hi John,

Last month, Governor Newsom released his updated 2025-26 state budget, announcing a $12B deficit and no funding for the major state housing programs. As budget negotiations continue to unfold until the Governor approves a final budget by July 1, the Emerging Leaders Peer Network (ELPN) is offering a timely training designed to prepare you for key implications ahead for our work as housing advocates.

Join us remotely on Tuesday, June 24 from 12-1PM for State Budget Roundup – Funding Outlook for the Coming Year, a workshop that will provide an insider’s perspective on current budget developments.

📋 What We’ll Learn Panelists will unpack key issues including the future of funding for the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) program; the reorganization of the California Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency (BCSH) and what it means for our work; and changes at the federal level. Attendees will gain insights into what excites and concerns experts about the budget, how to sustain housing momentum until the next state bond, and what strategic partnerships are needed to advocate effectively.

🧑‍🏫 Speakers include (And I’m the moderator!):

Don’t miss this chance to deepen your understanding and build your advocacy toolkit in a rapidly evolving landscape.
