I just stepped off the debate stage.

As expected, Andrew Cuomo lied his way through the night.

He shamelessly tried to rewrite history about his record blocking efforts to raise the minimum wage. He dodged accountability for his failed management of the COVID-19 pandemic as Governor, downplayed his personal relationship with Donald Trump, and pretended he’s the solution instead of the problem.

Meanwhile, I told the truth.

I reminded New York of the real Andrew Cuomo. The one who resigned in disgrace, who governed through bullying and backroom deals, who sent thousands of New Yorkers to their deaths, and who counts Donald Trump as a long-time friend.

And I shared a different vision — rooted in honesty, competence, and public service.

A city where we can end street and subway homelessness for people with serious mental illness.

A city where affordable housing isn’t just a talking point, but a priority.

A city that works for all of us — not just the wealthy and the well-connected.
