Dear A.,

Earlier today, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei
[link removed]
called American officials "arrogant" and
[link removed]
condemned the "rude, insolent U.S. leaders" for seeking to end Iran's uranium enrichment capabilities.

"A few years ago, one of the U.S. presidents said he would dismantle the nuts & bolts of Iran’s nuclear industry if he could. Of course, he admitted that he couldn’t. Those in power today – the Zionists and the Americans – should know that they can’t do a damn thing in this area," he
[link removed]
added .

These comments come following reports of a nuclear agreement put forward by U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, which proposes establishing a
[link removed]
regional uranium enrichment consortium .

Hours later, President Trump
[link removed]
said , "Time is running out on Iran's decision pertaining to nuclear weapons, which must be made quickly! It is my opinion that Iran has been slow-walking their decision on this very important matter, and we will need a definitive answer in a very short period of time!"

Iran's insistence on maintaining its uranium enrichment capabilities directly contradict President Trump's repeated statements, including one on Monday, that "WE WILL NOT ALLOW ANY ENRICHMENT OF URANIUM" for Iran.

As negotiations continue, State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce
[link removed]
said that the United States' maximum pressure campaign against Iran remains in "full force."

The maximum pressure campaign has caused Iranian oil exports to China to fall by 20%, Bloomberg
[link removed]
reports , as a result of greater sanctions enforcement.

"China's independent refiners, known as teapots, are the biggest buyers of Iranian crude, attracted to the discounted barrels because they help buffer typically razor-thin margins. However, they are processing near record-low rates."

Any nuclear agreement with Iran must achieve the Trump administration’s stated goal of verifiably and permanently dismantling Iran’s nuclear program, including ending its uranium enrichment capability.

To be effective, these talks must be time-bound and coupled with continued maximum economic pressure and a credible threat of military force.

NEW AIPAC MEMO
New IAEA Reports Highlight Why Iran Cannot Be Trusted with a Nuclear Program

[link removed]

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) issued two new reports at the end of May highlighting Iran’s illicit nuclear activities, its violations of its nuclear agreements and its efforts to deceive the world about its nuclear program.

As Institute for Science and International Security President and Founder David Albright said, "The two IAEA reports together show an Iranian regime that incessantly cheats on its safeguards obligations and consistently lies about its nuclear weapons efforts, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary."

U.S. vetoes anti-Israel U.N. resolution

The United States this afternoon
[link removed]
vetoed a one-sided anti-Israel resolution in the United Nations Security Council.

After the vote, Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon
[link removed]
said :

"I thank the United States for demonstrating moral clarity and leadership at the U.N. Security Council by vetoing the one-sided resolution against Israel. The resolution that was brought to a vote called for a ceasefire in Gaza without conditioning such a ceasefire on the immediate and unconditional release of the hostages — a gift to Hamas. It sends a dangerous message to Hamas terrorists: reject every proposal and the international community will reward you; hold innocent civilians hostage and the UN will grant you legitimacy. This is not diplomacy — it is surrender to terror. As long as the hostages remain in Gaza, there will be no ceasefire. Israel will continue to apply military pressure and use all necessary means until every hostage is brought home."
AIPAC thanks President Trump and his Administration for standing with America’s ally, Israel, and vetoing the latest biased, one-sided anti-Israel U.N. Security Council Resolution.

The way to end this war is for Hamas to release the hostages and end its terrorist reign. Unfairly targeting the Jewish state does not bring us closer to peace and ending the tragedy in Gaza.

Humanitarian efforts in Gaza continue despite Hamas' efforts to obstruct

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF)
[link removed]
paused operations at its aid distribution sites today to conduct logistical work needed to accommodate larger crowds. The IDF is simultaneously working to prepare safer access routes to the aid sites.

GHF is expected to resume aid distribution tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Israel
[link removed]
continues to facilitate aid into Gaza through the old mechanism, with 157 trucks carrying humanitarian aid, including food and flour for bakeries, entering yesterday, and an
[link removed]
additional 88 today .

As GHF and Israel continue to work to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza, Hamas is doing everything it can to undermine those efforts, according to experts.

"It is in Hamas’s strategic interest for the new aid mechanism to fail. Hamas and its allied factions may resort to intimidation, coercion, or outright violence to discourage Palestinians from accessing aid at these independent distribution sites. Undermining the new aid system serves two purposes: it preserves Hamas’s grip on power and reinforces the Islamist group’s narrative that external actors are acting against Palestinian interests," analyst Joe Truzman
[link removed]
writes .

Urban warfare expert John Spencer and international law expert Arsen Ostrovsky
[link removed]
add in a new op-ed :

"Hamas is panicking.

"Why? Because food has long been part of its arsenal.

"Hamas has used aid as leverage — diverting, distributing and denying it as a means to enforce loyalty and preserve power.

"The GHF threatens to dismantle that system by delivering directly to civilians, bypassing the terror group that has used starvation as a strategy.

"So Hamas has turned to a two-pronged response.

"First, disruption on the ground: sending armed operatives to provoke chaos at aid sites, firing on civilians attempting to access food and deliberately manufacturing volatility.

"Second, disinformation: flooding social media and compliant news outlets with false casualty counts, doctored images and fabricated narratives — all to paint Israel as the aggressor and itself as the victim."

In an
[link removed]
op-ed published today , the new executive chairman of the GHF, Rev. Johnnie Moore, writes:

"Just days ago, the world should have celebrated the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation's week of success. Over 7 million meals were delivered free to Gazans -- no trucks seized, no aid diverted, no violence at distribution sites. The system worked despite Gaza's volatility...

"Instead of celebrating GHF, the international press swallowed a Hamas disinformation campaign wholesale...

"What GHF is guilty of is exposing the whole charade for what it is. Unfortunately, instead of just focusing on feeding Gazans, GHF humanitarians must fight a profane information war naively parroted by those who should know better...

"It's time to deliver food—not for politics, not for process, but for people.

"Join us or get out of our way. But, for God’s sake, tell the truth."

Iranian foreign minister visits Lebanon

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi
[link removed]
met with Lebanese leaders in Beirut yesterday, his first visit to the country since the ceasefire agreement ended the war with Iran's terrorist proxy Hezbollah in November.

During the meeting, Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Raji reportedly told Araghchi that Hezbollah put his country in a "difficult situation" by dragging the country to war with Israel after October 7 and stressed the importance of disarming Hezbollah.

These comments echo Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam's comments in an interview with The Wall Street Journal last week, when Salam said, "All over the Lebanese territory, the state should have a monopoly on arms," stressing "the need to extend and consolidate the authority of the state."
