While we hearty New Englanders patiently await the summer sun, we thank you - our supporters - for the light and warmth you bring to our New Hampshire neighbors living the harsh reality of homelessness. NHCEH’s systems-level work is critical to elevating our belief that having a home is a basic human right.
As we prepare for NH Gives on June 10th - 11th ([link removed]) , we’d like to share with you our most recent efforts in our mission to find lasting solutions to homelessness through research, education and advocacy. We truly believe homelessness is a solvable issue and ask for your continued support to help our NH neighbors find their way home .

NHCEH Celebrates the 2025 Granite Leader Cohort!
NHCEH congratulates the nine individuals who recently completed the Granite Leaders Program! This program is designed to empower individuals with lived experience of homelessness through a five-day training focused on leadership and advocacy skills.
Our participants this year represented the towns of Plaistow, Peterborough, Manchester, Danville, and Nashua. Each of the nine participants arrived with incredible experience, talent and hearts on fire for making positive change.
As part of the five-day program, we toured the State House and were honored by visits from Senator Patrick Long and Representative Jonah Wheeler. We were also fortunate to welcome Representative Mary Jane Wallner to Manchester to speak with our participants about the importance of advocacy and sharing their stories.
We were thrilled to welcome back three Granite Leaders alumni to talk about their work since graduating from the program - all of whom were inspiring examples of what you can accomplish when you commit to actively being part of the solution.
NHCEH staff and Board Members were honored to learn from this inspired group of individuals and to be a part of supporting their efforts to use their voices, share their stories and make the unique impact only they can make.
NHCEH has been carefully following legislative activity on several bills related to housing and homelessness and has submitted both written and verbal testimony to Congress and Senate in an effort to help our lawmakers understand the impact of their vote. You can read NHCEH’s written testimony on our website at nhceh.org ([link removed]) .
Of particular concern is HB 60, a bill seeking to further the rights of landlords to evict tenants without cause, which goes in front of the Senate for a floor vote soon!
“Given the state of homelessness and housing instability in NH, an ounce of prevention is currently worth at least ten pounds of cure. Instead of preventing evictions, HB 60 would unfortunately move the needle in the wrong direction.”
Jennifer Chisholm, NHCEH Executive Director

The NH Senate will be convening on HB 60 tomorrow, June 5th. Please make your voice heard by contacting your senator and sharing your thoughts about this bill.
