The Trump Administration just made a decision that will devastate communities like ours: They’re pausing operations at Job Corps Centers across the country — including the Turner Job Corps Center in Albany, Georgia.
This is a direct attack on a program that has changed thousands of lives — a program that gives young people a hand up, not a handout.
For over 60 years, Job Corps has had strong, bipartisan support. It’s helped at-risk youth gain real skills, secure good jobs, and build better futures. Shutting it down will shatter the dreams of students who are working hard to change their lives.
As co-chair of the bipartisan Job Corps Caucus, I’ve fought for this program because I’ve seen what it makes possible — in Albany and across the country. And I won’t stop now.
