Donald Trump’s policies aren’t just cruel and harmful. They’re also insulting, to his opponents and his supporters alike.

His plans to cut Medicaid are an insult to working people who know full well what will happen if the House Republicans’ ‘big, beautiful’ budget becomes law: millions of deserving people are going to lose their health care coverage.

It’s an insult to the American taxpayer to expect that we’ll all pay hundreds of millions to retrofit a second-hand foreign jumbo jet the president wants to fly around in, and take with him to his presidential library after just a couple years of service.

All of this is intentional, of course. The brazenness. The chaos.

It’s meant to get us so whipped up that we can’t think clearly enough to respond.

Of course we can respond. And we must.

What people need right now isn’t chaos or contempt—they need a government and economy that help us live free and thriving lives in the 21st century.
