Dear Friend,

In the newsletter this week

But first....
This week Full Fact has been looking at a claim made by Richard Tice, deputy leader of Reform UK, who said that the current Labour government has "allowed the biggest influx of migrants in British history".

We don’t yet have the full picture of immigration under Labour. ONS figures suggest annual immigration to the UK was at a record level in 2023 before Labour were in power.

Small boat arrivals have been at record levels in 2025, but these represent only a small proportion of all migrants.
Best wishes,

Craig, Audience Engagement Manager - Full Fact
P.S.  There’s still time to donate to this week’s BBC Radio 4 appeal, featuring Martha Kearney telling Charlotte’s story.

“She turned to forums discussing so-called “alternative treatments”, and she was warned against the advice of mainstream medical professionals, like her GP.  Some people even described the contraceptive pill she’d been prescribed as toxic. Instead, she was inundated by wellness influencers promoting fitness plans and supplements they falsely claimed would “cure” her endometriosis.”
