Happy Pride Month!

I couldn’t be more proud to serve as one of just a handful of openly LGBTQ+ voices in Congress.

Together, despite the obstacles we face, we’re working towards a world where everyone can live openly, where our differences are celebrated, and where every American is afforded equal protection under the law, no matter who you are or who you love.

I’m proud to be the first openly LGBTQ+ Native American woman ever elected to Congress.

I’m proud that I’ve broken the mold of what a typical background is for a member of Congress.

And I’m proud to work my heart out every single day to fight back against discrimination and injustice.

If you’re a member of the LGBTQ+ community, please know that there are so many of us in Congress and across the country who support you. I understand that these times are difficult, but when we all stand together, I know we can keep pushing our nation forward toward equality.
