Dear John,
AFGE is joining a coalition of fellow unions, VSOs, and others to carry out a rally on our nation’s National Mall in Washington, DC Friday, June 6 at 2pm (between the Washington Monument and the World War II Memorial). We're pleased to share that AFGE President Everett Kelley will be speaking at this important event, as well as AFGE NVAC Second Executive Vice President Oscar L. Williams, Jr., and AFGE Local 32 activist and terminated probationary employee Shernice Mundell.
Your participation is requested to join in this historic event at the National Mall on June 6, for a public demonstration of unity and purpose, focused on defending the values and promises made to those who served. Lobby visits to Capitol Hill are planned for Thursday, June 5 if you are available to join your fellow veterans as they meet with elected officials.
AFGE is teaming up with the AFL-CIO Union Veterans Council and other AFL-CIO affiliates to pull off a Bonus Army-style event to get national exposure of the threats to our VA hospitals and the care promised to our veterans. This event is being organized by a national coalition of veteran- and civilian-led organizations.
