Donald Trump wants the American taxpayers to spend $45 million for a military parade for his birthday.

This is what dictators do, and it’s disgraceful.

Trump tried to demand a military parade in his honor during his first term, but the American people — particularly our Veterans — spoke out loudly enough to stop it. We shouldn’t have to try once again to stop this from happening, but because Trump has no sense of shame, we do.

Tell my colleagues in Congress: Do not allow Trump to waste taxpayer money on a military parade celebrating his birthday.

According to the Associated Press, the parade is planned to include “more than 6,600 soldiers, at least 150 vehicles, 50 helicopters, seven bands and possibly a couple thousand civilians.”

The price tag is estimated to be at least $45 million — but could balloon to as much as $90 million.

Trump fired thousands of Veterans to "save money" but wants taxpayers to spend millions for a military parade on his birthday.

Our servicemembers are not political pawns for Donald Trump’s personal use. Our Commander-in-Chief should not be allowed to use our military to boost his own fragile ego.
