Hi friend,
Last week I emailed you about the launch of our Ban the Bailiffs campaign, and I’ve been blown away by the response! Already, almost 2000 of us have added our names to the petition calling on councils to stop sending in the bailiffs.
It’s not too late to add your name ([link removed]) , friend
And we didn’t stop there. We took our message right to the heart of Westminster, delivering a repossession notice to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, calling on them to end the explosion in bailiff use.

We launched the campaign because council tax debt, and with it bailiff visits, have soared in recent years. A massive 4.4 million people are now facing unpayable council tax bills and the threat of a visit from the bailiffs.
Time and again we’ve been told that a visit from the bailiffs can be one of the most stressful parts of being in debt.
Jo from Manchester told us: “I didn’t even understand really what a bailiff was, but that they were going to come to my house and take my stuff. I had a three-year old child. I just thought I need to stop this.”
That’s why over the next few months, we’ll be ramping up the campaign and making sure our message can’t be ignored.

Thank you as ever for taking action! I know that campaigning together we can Ban the Bailiffs for good.

PS. We’ve also been making a splash in the media, if you didn’t see it our campaign exposing the extent of bailiff visits was covered in The Independent ([link removed]) .
