Senate Judiciary Committee Holds Hearing on Nationwide Injunctions; “more nationwide injunctions than the entirety of the 20th century”
Roll Call: The joint subcommittee hearing was among the latest Republican pushback to district judges who have ruled against the Trump administration, at times using nationwide injunctions to temporarily pause or slow executive branch actions ( Roll Call). Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX): In four months, the Trump administration has seen more nationwide injunctions than the entirety of the 20th century, and more nationwide injunctions than Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Joe Biden combined. This is not normal. This is not justice. This is an orchestrated campaign of judicial obstruction ( Ted Cruz). Senator Eric Schmitt: Enough is enough. I’ll be working with my colleagues to advance reforms to uphold the separation of powers ( X). Schmitt also highlighted the fact that these cases are supposed to be randomly assigned: Judge James Boasberg has somehow been assigned FOUR major Trump cases. A statistical impossibility. That isn’t “random.” It’s rigged ( X). Rebecca Downs of Townhall: Judge James Boasberg, the chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, has repeatedly been assigned cases to do with President Donald Trump’s second term, as Townhall has been covering. Congress has taken notice, and the House last month passed a bill to rein in rogue judges like Boasberg and others ( Townhall).

Colorado Terror Suspect Facing Federal Charges; Family Detained for Deportation
All this is above and beyond the charges he’s facing in Colorado: “This is how we start to disincentivize radical violent movements. ” New York Times: Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials on Tuesday arrested and detained the family of Mohamed Sabry Soliman, the Egyptian man who allegedly led a terror attack Sunday in Colorado, officials said. “Today the Department of Homeland Security and ICE are taking the family of suspected Boulder, Colorado terrorist and illegal alien Mohamed Soliman into ICE custody,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a video message on social media on Tuesday ( New York Times). Ed Morrissey: Consequences. How do they work again? Secretary of State Marco Rubio gave everyone a preview late yesterday: “In light of yesterday’s horrific attack, all terrorists, their family members, and terrorist sympathizers here on a visa should know that under the Trump Administration we will find you, revoke your visa, and deport you.” That was not a bluff or an academic statement. Earlier today, the Department of Homeland Security detained the family of the Boulder “Free Palestine” terrorists after the State Department revoked the visas for his wife and children. DHS now has the Solimans on the fast track to get booted out of the country, according to ABC News…. This is how we start to disincentivize radical violent movements. Find every possible consequence and apply it hard, fast, and comprehensively. This is exactly what I voted for ( Hot Air).

Tom Homan: Biden Administration “Created the biggest national security vulnerability this country has ever seen”
More from the Border Czar: We’re going to be dealing with this for the next ten years—because of the chaos they created in four years ( Sean Hannity). Kevin McCullough: Last week, in what is being called the largest-ever ICE enforcement operation, nearly 1,500 illegal foreign nationals were arrested—most of them hiding in so-called “sanctuary” jurisdictions. That’s not just a number. That’s a blunt warning: there are thousands more just like them—living, working, and perhaps plotting among us, thanks to open-border ideologues and their enablers in blue-state leadership… Since Trump returned to office, Homeland Security and ICE have been in triage mode—trying to undo the fallout of open-border madness that let in more than 10 million illegal entrants, including nearly 2 million “gotaways.” Think about that. Two million people who evaded Border Patrol entirely. Military-aged men. Unknown nationalities. Unknown intentions. And while current officials are sounding quiet alarms within the intelligence community, many national security analysts have gone public with this warning: the threat of a major domestic terror plot is as high as it has been in decades. Just ask the residents of Boulder, Colorado…. If we’re serious about preventing the next catastrophe, we can’t just applaud isolated enforcement operations. We must dismantle the entire framework that enables this madness. End sanctuary policies. Restore Trump-era enforcement. Build the wall. Deport the illegals. Block foreign adversaries. Shut down the nonprofits fueling the chaos. And stop pretending we have the luxury of time. Because we don’t ( Townhall).

In Wake of Drone Attack, Kremlin Threatens “Complete Destruction” of Ukraine
From the Institute for the Study of War: Kremlin officials publicly acknowledged that Russia seeks the “complete destruction” of Ukraine, indicating Moscow’s disinterest in good faith peace negotiations and a near-term resolution to the war. Russian Security Council Deputy Chairperson Dmitry Medvedev claimed on June 3 in posts on his Russian- and English-language Telegram channels that Russia needs the negotiations in Istanbul to result in Russia’s “swift victory (in Ukraine) and the complete destruction” of the Ukrainian government and not a “compromised peace on someone else’s delusional terms” ( ISW). Charlie Kirk: The most important thing happening in the world right now isn’t tariffs or the BBB. It’s the quickly-escalating war between Ukraine and Russia. Most people aren’t paying attention, but we’re closer to nuclear war than we’ve been since this began in 2022 ( Charlie Kirk). The human toll of the war Russia started is enormous: Russian fatalities and casualties have been extraordinary. Russia will likely hit the 1 million casualty mark in the summer of 2025—a stunning and grizzly milestone. Overall, a high of 250,000 Russian soldiers have died in Ukraine, with over 950,000 total Russian casualties, a sign of Putin’s blatant disregard for his soldiers. To put these numbers into historical perspective, Russia has suffered roughly five times as many fatalities in Ukraine as in all Russian and Soviet wars combined between the end of World War II and the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022. In addition, Russian fatalities in Ukraine (in just over three years) are 15 times larger than the Soviet Union’s decade-long war in Afghanistan and 10 times larger than Russia’s 13 years of war in Chechnya ( CSIS).

Trump Pushes Recission Bill—Looking to Cut $9.4 Billion From Federal Budget
The DOGE-inspired cuts are a stand-alone bill, separate, from the reconciliation bill now in front of John Thune (R-SD) and the Senate. Wall Street Journal : Republicans have promoted rescissions as a method to codify cuts identified by Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency. Musk, the billionaire CEO of electric-vehicle maker Tesla and space company SpaceX, left the administration last week after a whirlwind four months that upended the federal government. The package includes cuts to the U.S. Agency for International Development, the foreign-assistance agency DOGE gutted within two weeks. Republican leaders have said they wanted to move quickly on the package, just as they are also working to advance President Trump’s “one big, beautiful” bill that cuts taxes while also trimming spending on Medicaid and food aid. That bill passed the House last month, and the Senate is now taking it up. The director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, Russ Vought, said the rescissions “would eliminate programs that are antithetical to American interests,” such as funding the World Health Organization and LGBTQ activities. He called public media “politically biased” and an “unnecessary expense to the taxpayer” ( Wall Street Journal). House Freedom Caucus: The House Freedom Caucus strongly supports these critical rescissions, and we will support as many more rescissions packages the White House can send us in the coming weeks and months. These first DOGE cuts target taxpayer-funded public broadcasters notorious for their liberal bias like NPR and PBS, as well as billions in wasteful foreign aid dollars. Passing this rescissions package will be an important demonstration of Congress’s willingness to deliver on DOGE and the Trump agenda ( Freedom Caucus). This comes as Elon Musk unloads on the Big, Beautiful Bill: I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore ( Elon Musk).

Economic Numbers Strong as Nation Enters Summer Months
Rick Santelli of CNBC: Personal income is up .8 percent—that is almost triple the expectations…. This is a great four-month start to any year ( Rapid Response). Katie Pavlich: President Donald Trump’s economy continues to provide good news for the American people. New inflation numbers released Friday show another decline in rising prices, combined with an increase in personal income. “President Donald J. Trump’s economic agenda is working: inflation is down, income is up, and the trade deficit just fell by the largest amount on record. Today’s economic report follows multiple robust jobs reports, below-expectation inflation reports, and a strong bump in consumer confidence,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt released in a statement Friday. “President Trump continues to prove doomsday ‘experts’ wrong with his America First economic agenda that’s delivering for the American people” ( Townhall). The trade deficit? Down as well. Wall Street Journal: The U.S.’s trade deficit for goods shrank substantially in April, as new tariffs weighed on imports. Goods imports fell by 20% to $276.1 billion, while exports rose 3.4% to $188.5 billion, the Commerce Department said. It was the biggest one-month drop in goods imports on record. That yielded a goods trade deficit of $87.6 billion, down from $162.3 billion in March ( Wall Street Journal). Stock market finished strong Tuesday: The Nasdaq advanced 0.8%, while the S&P 500 rose 0.6% and the Dow industrials climbed 0.5%…. Markets have been bolstered by a strong earnings season and a sense among some investors that President Trump’s trade policies won’t tip the economy into a recession, as many feared a few weeks ago ( Wall Street Journal).

Trafalgar’s latest has the president at 54 percent approval ( Trafalgar). Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll has Trump’s approval at 53 percent ( Rasmussen). During Trump’s first term as president, his monthly approval ran from a high of 51% in February 2017 to a low of 42% in August 2017. In December 2020, the final full month of his first term, Trump earned a monthly job approval of 47% ( Rasmussen). Note: Little to no coverage of this on elite media outlets.

A New Push to Formally Designate Muslim Brotherhood a Terrorist Organization
The immediate catalyst is the terror attack we witnessed on Jews in Boulder, Colorado. Leading the way is Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX): In the coming days, I will be circulating and re-introducing a modernized version of the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act, which I have been pushing for my entire Senate career.… the Trump administration and Republican Congress can no longer afford to avoid the threat they pose to Americans and American national security ( Sen Ted Cruz). Free Beacon: ISGAP (Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy) executive director Charles Asher Small said the Muslim Brotherhood’s decades-long promotion of radical anti-Israel ideology contributed heavily to the rise in Jew hatred following Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack. “We are witnessing the consequences of the Muslim Brotherhood’s long-term plan to undermine democracy from within,” Asher Small said in a statement. “The recent wave of violent unrest in the United States—which has included threats to Americans, their safety and their lives, vandalism, and the destruction of property—is the result of a radical ideological infrastructure led by the same forces associated with the atrocities of October 7, carried out by the Palestinian chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood—Hamas” ( Free Beacon).

Jake Tapper Is Outpacing His CNN Colleagues
That is: In the rate at which his viewership is declining. This comes as Tapper peddles his book “Original Sin”—covering Biden’s decline. Perhaps even the CNN faithful can smell the hypocrisy: New York Sun: CNN’s Jake Tapper is seeing a worse decline in viewership for his show than the rest of the struggling network’s premier shows, and even worse than the show of one of the main figures accused of helping to cover up President Biden’s decline, MSNBC’s Jen Psaki …. While the network’s premier programming saw a double-digit decrease, Mr. Tapper’s viewership took a bigger hit, losing a quarter of its audience compared to May 2024. Last month, the controversial host averaged 525,000 total viewers, down 25 percent from last year and his worst month since April 2015. That number also represents a nearly 21 percent decrease from the 662,000 total viewers Mr. Tapper averaged during the first quarter of 2025 ( New York Sun).

UN Releases Orwellian Policy Brief Pushing “Information Integrity on Digital Platforms”
Quoting Secretary General Antonio Guterres : Digital platforms are being misused to subvert science and spread disinformation and hate to billions of people ( X). Read: We want Orwellian governance of speech. From the policy brief : Optimism over the potential of social media to connect and engage people has been dampened as mis- and disinformation and hate speech have surged from the margins of digital space into the mainstream. The danger cannot be overstated. Social media enabled hate speech and disinformation can lead to violence and death. The ability to disseminate large-scale disinformation to undermine scientifically established facts poses an existential risk to humanity and endangers democratic institutions and fundamental human rights. These risks have further intensified because of rapid advancements in technology, such as generative artificial intelligence. Across the world, the United Nations is monitoring how mis- and disinformation and hate speech can threaten progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals. It has become clear that business as usual is not an option. The risks inherent in the regulation of expression require a carefully tailored approach that complies with the requirements of legality, necessity and proportionality under human rights law, even when there is a legitimate public interest purpose. Later they site—positively—the heavy-handed, speech-restricting Digital Services Act in the EU: In addition, some recent legislative efforts have been made to address the issue at the regional and national levels. These include the framework adopted by the European Union in 2022, comprising the Digital Services Act, the initiative on transparency and targeting of political advertising ( UN).
