John,
There is no way to sugarcoat this fact: Abortion bans are killing pregnant people, and the anti-choice Republicans responsible for those bans are doing everything they can to hide that fact from the public.
EMILYs List supports women who can DEFEAT anti-choice Republicans and RESTORE lifesaving reproductive health care nationwide. Will you support our work with a donation today?
In Georgia, at least two women have died of preventable infections, after hours in agony, because doctors weren't able to perform the abortion procedures that could have saved them. At the same time, the Republican-majority state government disbanded its entire, 32-person maternal mortality review committee — that's the committee that would have investigated cases like these and held the state of Georgia accountable for these deaths.
And in Texas, at least three pregnant women have also died trying desperately to get abortion care that doctors were not able to provide due to state bans. One of those women hemorrhaged to death while having a miscarriage in a hospital bed because her doctors couldn't perform the procedure she needed (which is also used to end pregnancies).
Let me say that again: Doctors are being prevented from doing their jobs because of abortion bans in their states — and their patients are dying as a result.
Republicans write and pass abortion bans knowing their policies will kill people. It is our mission and our duty to get these cruel, dangerous extremists out of office.
