Hello from Orange County, John!

This weekend, California Democrats had our convention right here in Orange County. There was no better place for it, because we know how to beat Trump and win hard races here—experience that I’m proud to bring to my campaign for governor.

I was particularly excited to catch up with people who volunteered for my past campaigns. I couldn’t have won any of my tough Congressional races without them, and it’s that same energy that’s going to power this campaign and down-ballot Democrats to victory in 2026.

It’s clear from the recent election that Democrats have real work to do to earn back the trust of the American people. To do that, we have to show up in communities, hear the voices of people on the ground, and come together as activists and leaders to chart a path forward.

I was heartened to hear that people are resonating with my focus on economic issues and my experience messaging on them:
