Newark mayor sues Trump lawyer, alleging ‘false arrest’

- Newark Mayor Ras Baraka (D) sued ([link removed] ) Alina Habba, U.S. attorney for New Jersey and a former personal lawyer for President Donald Trump, for false arrest, malicious prosecution and defamation stemming from his arrest for protesting the Trump administration's deportation policies.

A win for California voters

- A court ruled ([link removed] ) in favor of California and blocked a new measure in Fresno County that moved the county’s district attorney and sheriff elections to the gubernatorial election cycle. The state was concerned moving the election away from the presidential cycle would decrease turnout.
