Over the weekend, our country experienced yet another preventable tragedy at the hands of the Biden-Harris Administration’s destructive immigration policies.

On Sunday, an Egyptian national carried out a horrific terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado, setting innocent victims on fire as they peacefully joined to advocate for the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas terrorists in Gaza. The deranged perpetrator, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, shouted “Free Palestine” as he threw Molotov cocktails at the group. His antisemitic violence injured eight people, including one in critical condition.

Following the attack, Soliman was arrested and booked into the Boulder County Jail. He currently faces attempted murder, assault, and additional charges.

First and foremost, I encourage you to join me in praying for the innocent victims injured in this gruesome attack. Antisemitism and political violence have no place in our great country.

While we await additional information from the FBI’s ongoing investigation into this matter, the Department of Homeland Security has confirmed Soliman is an illegal alien. He first entered the U.S. and received a visa from the Biden-Harris Administration in August 2022. After overstaying his visa in February 2023, the Biden-Harris Administration granted Soliman a work permit, which expired in March 2025.

Alarmingly, the Egyptian illegal alien admitted that he planned the attack for over a year, adding that he was driven by a desire to “kill all Zionist people.” Make no mistake, the dangerous rise in antisemitic violence is a direct result of the Left’s embrace of antisemitic rhetoric and behavior.

For four years, Republicans warned that the Biden-Harris Administration’s intentional illegal invasion and mass importation of unvetted individuals posed severe national security risks. The Left never listened.

Clearly, these destructive policies are continuing to terrorize American communities.

This is precisely why mass deportations are needed to rescue our nation. Thanks to President Trump and his Administration, illegals are now being tracked down, detained, and deported. After all, the only way to reverse Democrats’ perilous mass importation is to carry out mass deportations.

I fully support these historic efforts, which must continue until every solitary illegal alien is taken off our streets and deported from our country.

Each year, I have the honor of nominating eligible candidates in the Ninth District for appointment to the following U.S. Service Academies: the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.

As you likely know, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced 21 sites on Lake Lanier operated by the agency would be temporarily closed ahead of Memorial Day weekend. Upon being informed about the park and boat ramp closures, I pressed the USACE to reach a more acceptable solution to safely increase access to sites on Lake Lanier. I was pleased that following these conversations, more Lake Lanier boat ramps were open and only 11 recreational sites were temporarily closed over Memorial Day weekend — marking a significant improvement from the previously planned total of 21 site closures.

Now, two more USACE-operated parks, Little Hall and Old Federal Day Use, have been reopened. This progress will further expand residents and visitors’ safe access to recreational sites. Please know that I remain highly engaged in this matter, and I’m working toward a long-term solution to ensure folks can safely enjoy additional sites on Lake Lanier.

Lawmakers are back in Washington to consider the following pieces of legislation:

• H.R. 2966, the American Entrepreneurs First Act: This bill codifies the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) new verification requirements, including proof of U.S. citizenship and age verification, for SBA assistance applications, strengthening protections against fraud and ensuring taxpayer-funded loans only go to Americans.
• H.R. 2931, the Save SBA from Sanctuary Cities Act: This legislation relocates SBA offices from sanctuary cities and jurisdictions to non-sanctuary municipalities to ensure these federal resources are going to benefit American small businesses and communities.
• H.R. 2987, the Capping Excessive Awarding of SBLC Entrants (CEASE) Act: This bill limits the number of SBA-licensed for-profit Small Business Lending Companies (SBLCs) to 16 to restore proper oversight capabilities to the SBA and protect the integrity of SBA loan programs.
