Hey John,

After I sent my note this morning, I was blown away by the response. Dozens donated. And some of you even replied with heartfelt messages of support. Thank you.

We’re now only $1,041 short of hitting our mid-month fundraising goal. It looks like you haven’t chipped in yet. If you can take a moment to contribute $3 before midnight, it'd go a long way in helping us hit this mark.

Here’s the link to give: [link removed]

Thank you!

Phil

P.S. Sometimes our system is delayed, so if you donated earlier, apologies for the bump.

John, there’s no doubt that we are in a defining moment in our nation’s history.

We’re facing issues that really threaten the existential nature of our country -- structural racism, the climate crisis, income inequality, even our ability to respond to pandemics. But this is also a political moment where I believe lasting change is possible. And when moments like this happen, we have to take advantage of them.

I’ll be honest, I’ve been told by some that it is not my time to run for Congress. I’ve been called too young, and told that I need to wait my turn.

I humbly disagree.

Right now, politics as usual simply won’t cut it. Our community, and our country, needs a new generation of leaders with a forward-looking vision. A vision that both strives for our progressive values and is proudly anchored in the day-to-day reality of our community.

I helped retiring Congressman Denny Heck put those principles into practice as a member of his senior leadership team. I’m very proud of the work we did together, and I’m ready to be that voice in Congress, but I cannot do this alone:

We have an internal, mid-month fundraising deadline at midnight tonight and need help meeting our $3,000 goal. Can I count on you to chip in a donation today? >> [link removed]

Thank you,

Phil

Phil Gardner served as the District Director for Congressman Rep. Denny Heck in Washington's 10th District. Now, he's running to replace Denny in order to continue fighting for the people of the South Sound and our shared progressive values. If elected, Phil would make history as Washington state’s first openly LGBT Member of Congress.
