For more than a year now, I’ve been working with a coalition of CEOs and business leaders across the country on a game-changing proposal that will transform lives. It will enhance the financial security and personal freedoms of the American people for generations.

If passed and signed into law, it will be one of our Republican Party’s landmark achievements.

Getting the Invest America Act across the finish line is among my top priorities – and if you missed the news, I’m thrilled to report that it has been rolled into the draft reconciliation bill released last week by the House Ways and Means Committee!

The Invest America Act would create private investment accounts for every American child, seeded with $1,000 when they are a newborn. Additional contributions can be made by family members and employers, and the money will be tax-deferred.

When these children turn 18, they will have a resource to put to work to pursue higher education, start a business, or buy a home.

Today, there’s a huge percentage of the American people who don’t own stocks or bonds, are not interested in the market, and may not feel particularly invested in our free enterprise system.

The Invest America Act will give everyone a stake – it will enhance economic participation and provide a major boost to help the least privileged escape a life of poverty.
