Dear Health Advocates,

Last evening, the Senate came back into session for a four-week session until their July 4th recess. Senate leadership has echoed their House colleagues in maintaining a tight timeline to pass the reconciliation bill, with Senate Leader Thune's goal being to get the bill to the President's desk by July 4th. This week, we expect closed-door meetings between Republican Senators, which will help inform where there may be disagreements and fractures in the support for this reconciliation bill. If the Senate sticks to their goal, a floor vote is likely by the week of June 23rd but could come as soon as June 16th.

There will likely be no markups or hearings, continuing the theme of hiding this process from the American people and rushing through this legislation that stands to eliminate health coverage for nearly 15 million people. That's why the next two weeks are critical in our ability to draw attention to the harmful provisions in this legislation. We will continue with our strong message: No Cuts to Medicaid, the ACA or other vital health programs!
