Friend — Recently, House Republicans approved their billionaire tax scam
by just a single vote. Their bill would gut clean energy investments, drive up
energy costs for consumers, and create pay-to-play schemes for polluters to
ignore environmental safeguards and drill on public lands, along with other
threats to people’s health and safety. It’s on track to be one of the most harmful, costly, and sweeping pieces of
legislation in recent history. The Republicans’ bill is not yet law — and we need your help urging senators to
STOP the worst attacks on the environment or OPPOSE it entirely. Senators are negotiating the bill RIGHT NOW. We can’t afford to let them put our economy and our future at risk — tell your senators to oppose ANY attempt to gut incentives for clean energy or roll back protections for our air, lands, and water. [link removed] Senate Republicans have set a July 4th goal to pass this bill. The Republican
majority is razor-thin, and a number of Republican senators have already spoken
out against the House’s sledgehammer approach to clean energy. Without their
votes, the bill cannot pass into law, but there’s enormous pressure on them to
cave to Trump and support it. Add your voice to our campaign: Tell your senators to protect public lands and clean energy incentives in the final bill. [link removed] Thanks for everything that you do for people and our planet, Friend. David Shadburn
