We need 2,500 signatures to DEMAND Iowa’s leaders to make absentee voting easier!

Republican state lawmakers in Iowa are working overtime to make sure Iowans can’t vote this November -- in fact, this isn’t the first time they’ve tried to suppress the vote.

Just this week, Iowa Senate Republicans passed a budget which includes new, unnecessary voter ID requirements, and this was just days after trying to push a bill which would BAN the Secretary of State from mailing absentee ballots without Iowans first submitting a written request to the secretary of state.

It's clear Iowa Republicans are taking the lead from Washington GOP insiders by doing whatever they can to try and stop people from voting.

We should never force Iowans to risk their lives in order to fulfill their constitutional right to vote, and we shouldn't be making it harder to vote. If you agree, add your name to our petition right now DEMANDING that Iowa’s leaders make it easier to vote in the November elections via absentee voting.

During this global pandemic, if state lawmakers truly cared about getting folks to vote they would work to improve and expand early and absentee voting.

Take it from the GOP lawmakers themselves and the legislation they’ve introduced to see if they have Iowans’ best interests at heart. The GOP:

• Passed a Voter ID law to combat nonexistent voter fraud
• Tried and failed to ban satellite voting stations in state-owned buildings (which would have prevented early voting on college campuses and the Iowa Veterans Home)
• Passed a bill this month requiring felons to repay restitution before their voting rights are restored
