Last month, I requested nearly $37 million for fifteen local projects in the Fiscal Year 2026 spending bill. I secured more than $19.3 million for infrastructure projects in Northwest Washington in the Fiscal Year 2024 spending package, which was signed into law in March 2024. It is critical to keep this work going.

My priority is to shape spending bills that invest in Northwest Washington communities because you cannot have a big league economy with a little league infrastructure. I will continue to work closely with community leaders and stakeholders to secure critical funding to create more jobs, build better infrastructure and improve vital services residents rely on.

The projects I have requested funding for will help improve Northwest Washington's transportation system, invest in community services, promote education and workforce development, and invest in critical infrastructure:

  • Over $7 million for a cleaner, greener, safer, and more accessible transportation system
  • Over $11.5 million to invest in local community services all across Northwest Washington
  • Over $5.5 million for education and workforce development
  • Over $11.5 million for critical infrastructure

Funding projects like these will help make Northwest Washington an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.

More soon,

Rick
