This will be a pivotal month for LGBTQ+ rights – in the coming weeks, we're likely to get a decision in U.S. vs Skrmetti, a Supreme Court case that will determine the fate of laws banning trans youth from accessing healthcare and the legal tools we have to fight anti-trans attacks in court. The Senate will also be voting on a bill that could rip away Medicaid and federal insurance marketplace coverage of gender-affirming care, throwing the healthcare access of countless families into question. No matter how the courts rule or Congress legislates, our team and our Trans Youth Emergency Project will be here to support families of trans youth however we can and make sure no one is denied the care they need to thrive. Your support is critical to this work.
If you're able, please consider starting Pride with a donation of $20, $10, or whatever you can give today to help us continue supporting LGBTQ+ folks and fighting for our equality at every level of government. Your donation can go twice as far this month, and any donation of $10 or more before June 8th will get you a free Pride sticker in the mail!
As we prepare for what the coming weeks will bring, we're also looking to our history. June 26th is the 10th anniversary of Obergefell v. Hodges, the Supreme Court decision that granted the freedom to marry to same-sex couples nationwide. As we grapple with attacks in the present, we want to take a moment to celebrate our history and look to the decades of organizing behind us for the path forward – on how to connect with each other, organize for the future we deserve, and fight like hell to protect our progress.
We have gotten through seemingly insurmountable challenges in the past, and we will do it again to build the future we deserve. We feel so honored that we are able to meet this moment because of the wonderful support from folks like you.
Thank you so much for all you do in the fight for LGBTQ+ equality,
