Subject: Mississippi: It’s time to vote

Team,

Every election matters. Every voter matters.

That’s how we build power — and that’s what’s at stake tomorrow, June 3, in local elections across Mississippi.

From Jackson to Biloxi, voters will choose mayors, city council members, and other local leaders who’ll shape their communities for years to come. And in Gulfport, the second-largest city in the state, we have a real chance to elect a transformational leader.

Sonya Williams-Barnes is running for mayor of Gulfport. She’s a former state legislator who has delivered real results — bringing millions back to her hometown to fix flooding and infrastructure issues and passing legislation that’s now sending Mississippi Lottery funds directly to public schools.

Sonya is fighting for people, not politics. She’s focused on the issues that matter most to us, including fixing the broken water billing system, modernizing Gulfport’s permitting process, and addressing homelessness with compassion and accountability.

She’s a true leader who will stand up for us and lead with transparency, equity, and lived experience. With national attention on this race, every single vote will count.

Make your plan to vote:
Find your polling place → Mississippi Voter Lookup
Bring an accepted photo ID → Voter ID Info
Polls are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 3

Let’s work together.
Let’s show up.
Let’s move Mississippi forward.

Thank you,

Groundwork Project PAC
