House Republicans just voted to strangle the nonprofits that people rely on most. Their new tax scheme doesn’t just favor the rich, it deliberately punishes charities that serve our communities.
Trump’s tax bill slaps heavy new taxes on private foundations, penalizes nonprofits for offering fair benefits to their employees, and cuts support for organizations on the front lines of hunger, homelessness, and healthcare.
This is part of a long-term MAGA strategy to kneecap opposition. When they can’t silence critics directly, they bleed them dry. Nonprofits are one of the last independent checks against government overreach and this bill puts a target on their backs.
The Senate still has time to fix this and we have to make sure that they strip out the most damaging provisions and protect our communities before it's too late.

From food banks and shelters to legal clinics and disaster relief, nonprofits are often the only thing standing between crisis and catastrophe. Cutting their funding is calculated. And the human toll will be enormous.
