Our hearts are with the Jewish community in Boulder and across the country after Sunday’s horrific attack left 12 people injured, some in critical condition.

The victims were participating in a peaceful demonstration to raise awareness for Israeli hostages held by Hamas. They were targeted, according to federal prosecutors, simply for being Jewish — for marching in solidarity and exercising their right to speak out.

This was antisemitic violence, plain and simple.

We must not look away. We must not soften our language. And we must never allow hate like this to take root — not in our communities, not in our country.

I stand with the Jewish community in Boulder and across the United States as they process yet another violent, deeply disturbing act of hate. I also stand with those committed to peace, justice, and the safe return of hostages still being held in Gaza.

We cannot let fear win. Not now. Not ever.
