As we wrap up another District Work Week, I am grateful to everyone who came to our events, shared your stories, concerns, fears, hopes, and dreams with me and my office. I held my 19th town hall of 2025 in Los Lunas last week. I want to thank everyone from Valencia County who joined me. Across the district, your questions remain the same: what is happening with vital programs like Medicare and SNAP, how can we stop Trump, and how can constituents fight back against these harmful cuts. I will keep traveling across the district every time I’m home to ensure your voices are heard. | I also joined Senator Ben Ray Luján for a Medicaid town hall in Albuquerque to talk to our communities about the devastating effects of the GOP reconciliation bill if passed. We are in the fight of our lives for our communities and our democracy. Every day, I am deeply honored to be in this fight for New Mexico alongside Senator Luján and our entire congressional delegation. Together we are working to defend our rights and Constitution and to tackle our biggest challenges of today. | As I leave for another week in Washington, I am not taking my eye off the ball. Elon Musk may have left his post in the federal government, but DOGE cuts will continue, and the devastation left behind must be reversed. | I will hold Musk and all of his DOGE cronies accountable. The courts are our key tool until Democrats regain control of Congress. There are over 200 court cases and injunctions against the chaos he’s caused, and in many cases, the courts have ordered the administration and DOGE to reverse course and fix what they broke. I have also filed legislation to ensure taxpayers are not footing the bill for litigation brought against Mr. Musk and any Special Government employee who are to blame for this mess. When Democrats regain control of Congress in 2026, we will use the tools of Congress to hold them accountable, as well. But let me be clear: now is not the time to let off the pressure. DOGE employees are still infiltrating government agencies and wreaking havoc. Project 2025 architect Russell Vought is poised to take the helm of DOGE, and in many ways, he’s worse, because he has worked in the government before and knows his way around skirting the law. I need you to keep speaking out against his proposals to dismantle our government. | It is an honor to represent you in Congress. As always, if I can assist you or your family, please do not hesitate to reach out to our District Office at (505) 346–6781!
