Air Quality Alert Continues to Impact Burning Permits
Burning permits will not be activated today through Wednesday, June 4 at noon.
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued an air quality alert for all of Minnesota through Wednesday, June 4, at 12 p.m.
To reduce additional air pollutants, burning permits will not be issued or activated. Campfires are discouraged.

A band of heavy smoke from Canadian wildfires is moving into Minnesota behind a cold front. The air quality is expected to reach the maroon quality index (AQI) category, a level considered hazardous for everyone, in parts of northwest Minnesota. Northwest and north central Minnesota is expected to reach purple air quality index (AQI) category, a level considered very unhealthy for everyone. Northeast, central, and south central Minnesota will reach red quality index (AQI) category, considered unhealthy for everyone. Southeast and southwest Minnesota is expected to reach orange air quality index (AQI) category, considered unhealthy for sensitive groups.
