Trump is taking aim at New York.

The dystopian budget being pushed by Trump and Republicans in DC would slash Medicaid and food stamps for millions of New Yorkers.

30% of all New Yorkers rely on Medicaid to get healthcare, but this budget could cut healthcare for more than 1 million of our neighbors. It also targets food aid and housing support for low-income families.

In fact, the Republican tax bill would punch a $20 billion hole in New York State's own budget, making it impossible to provide essential services our communities rely on.

What's that mean? Trump's budget will leave our families sicker, hungrier and without access to affordable housing. It's shameful.

And New York's own Republican Congressmembers—like Rep. Nicole Malliotakis—voted for it, even though Malliotakis’ district has the sixth-highest Medicaid enrollment of any Republican district in the entire country.

And that's just the half of it.

Day after day, Trump and Congressional Republicans are cutting crucial programs that everyday New Yorkers rely on. He’s making your life more difficult and more expensive while New York’s Republican Congress Members cheer him on.

In just the past two months, Trump and Republicans have:

Fired all the staff of the Home Energy Assistance Program, which helps 1 million New Yorkers pay bills and get air conditioners, even though extreme heat kills nearly 600 New Yorkers each year.

Cut $300 million meant to protect New Yorkers from flooding. That means less safety for communities that lost loved ones during Superstorm Sandy and Hurricane Ida.

Imposed tariffs that make groceries and other essentials more expensive, and make it harder for local businesses to get by.

Threatened to cut funding for New York’s subways, which means more delays and congestion for commuters.

If we don’t fight back, Trump will make life more expensive, more difficult and less safe for all New Yorkers.

Down at the state level, I’m working with Democrats to pass policies that lower the cost-of-living for working families, build more affordable housing, and ensure a better future for all of us. But I can’t do it alone.
