Hi John,

Brazil can be the climate champion the world needs. But right now, its
government is secretly selling off parts of the Amazon Rainforest to
fossil fuel companies.^1

Indigenous Peoples and Brazilian activists on the ground are opposing more
drilling in the Amazon, which plays a crucial part in regulating the
Earth’s climate by absorbing carbon dioxide.

And they’re asking activists everywhere to stand with them. That’s why
we’re sharing a letter to Brazilian Ministers—urging them to listen to
community demands. [ [link removed] ]Will you help amplify the call from Indigenous
Peoples and Brazilian activists for a fossil fuel phase-out and a clear
path to a just energy transition?

A fair and just energy transition plan must include an end to all fossil
fuel expansion; clean energy access for everyone; investment in renewable
energy education and training; and taxes on extreme wealth to pay for the
energy transition.

Brazil is hosting this year's most important climate talks, COP30. The
world is watching, and Brazil has the chance to lead. This is why we must
help amplify the call for a fossil fuel phase-out and a clear plan for
energy transition now, so the rest of the world will follow and take bold
steps in addressing the climate crisis.

While the United States refuses to act on climate, Brazil can be the
climate leader the world needs—but only if the people demand it. Stand in
solidarity with Indigenous Peoples and Brazilian activists and send a
message to Brazilian Ministers now!
