Join the National Association of Scholars for the launch of the "Archimedes Standards" on Tuesday, June 10, at 2 pm ET.

The National Association of Scholars, in collaboration with Freedom in Education, has drafted the Archimedes Standards: Model PreK-12 State Mathematics Standards for teachers and legislators to implement in public schools around the nation. These Standards seek to close the educational gap between where students in the United States are and where they should be when it comes to mathematics education.

Students, parents, and teachers have cried out for reform of American education. We need a new set of mathematics standards that address the issues plaguing our K-12 education. The Archimedes Standards were written to pave a pathway to success that emphasizes content-rich, research-based instruction, making it easy for teachers to understand and implement. The Standards eliminate superfluous filler, disentangle elaborate complexities, streamline learning processes, and re-center instruction on the foundational concepts of mathematics.

The Archimedes Standards are lucid, rigorous, and accessible, helping ensure that all American students have the opportunity to learn mathematics for their own advancement and the public good.

This event will feature Jonathan Gregg, Assistant Professor of Education at Hillsdale College and project director of the Archimedes Standards; Nathan Gwinn, K-12 Lead Teacher Advisor at Freedom in Education and expert committee member of the Archimedes Standards, he also currently serves as the principal of St. Mary's Catholic School in Jackson, TN; and Patrick Wolf, a Distinguished Professor of Education Policy and the 21st Century Endowed Chair in School Choice at the University of Arkansas, he is also a quantitative political scientist best known for leading influential studies of private school voucher programs in Washington, D.C., Milwaukee, WI, and the State of Louisiana.

This event will be moderated by David Randall, Director of Research at the National Association of Scholars, and project coordinator of the Archimedes, Franklin, and American Birthright Standards.
