Dear Supporter,

TELL YOUR U.S. SENATORS:

“Stop the House-passed bill, H.R. 1, which cuts a staggering $700 billion from Medicaid — and protect older Americans’ access to the health care and supportive services they need to age with dignity!”

Last month, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 1 — a dangerous bill that slashes nearly $700 billion from Medicaid to pay for massive tax giveaways that mostly go to the wealthy and huge corporations.

Now, GOP hardliners in the Senate are moving fast to draft and pass their own version of this legislation — and they’re racing to get it to the President’s desk by July 4th.

We must ACT NOW to stop this assault on seniors before it’s too late.

Supporter, please add your name to our Emergency Petition to the U.S. Senate demanding they reject the House-passed bill that sacrifices seniors’ access to critical health care and supportive services to help pay for massive tax breaks that mostly benefit the super wealthy. ( [link removed] )

H.R. 1 will result in massive harm to older adults and their families by shuttering nursing homes and home care agencies, cutting to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits and more:

Depriving older Americans of the ability to maintain their independence and stay in their homes. It could also make nursing home care unaffordable for many seniors.

Forcing 1.4 million low-income people with Medicare to lose cost-sharing assistance which will make doctors’ visits unaffordable and hamper seniors’ ability to meet their basic needs.

Stripping a population of access to basic health care which will ultimately make them sicker and cost taxpayers more in the long run.

And now Senate leadership is working behind closed doors to ram through their version of this bill at lightning speed.

The National Committee is fighting back with everything we’ve got — meeting with lawmakers, appearing in national and local media and sounding the alarm in communities across the country.

But we need a massive wave of grassroots pressure right now to stop this in its tracks.

Please sign our Emergency Petition to the U.S. Senate today. ( [link removed] ) Let your Senators know: You will not stand by while seniors’ benefits are slashed to fund tax cuts for the rich.

We’ve seen this playbook before — rushing through dangerous legislation before the public can respond. That’s why your voice is needed now more than ever.

If these cuts become law, they will blow a huge hole in the federal budget — to the tune of at least $4 trillion in additional debt. And that would give the Trump Administration and congressional leaders an excuse to pursue deep cuts and radical “reforms” in Social Security and Medicare next.

Sign the petition now. ( [link removed] ) Then share it with your friends, neighbors and family. The Senate needs to hear from you before it’s too late.

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
President & CEO

P.S. Supporter, your signed petition is urgently needed! ( [link removed] ) The U.S. Senate could soon vote on the “One, Big Beautiful Bill Act” which would rob older Americans of the chance to age with dignity. Your U.S. Senators must hear from you and other seniors from your state on the critical need to oppose devastating Medicaid cuts. Thank you!
