** Support Fiercely Independent Media!
------------------------------------------------------------

============================================================

Dear FAIR Friend,

As the Trump administration’s attacks on the First Amendment intensify, FAIR is fighting back.

** We’re entering our summer fundraiser with the need to raise at least $30,000—Can you help us? ([link removed])
** ([link removed])

Under an administration that has no regard for human rights, immigrants’ rights, public health, the climate or the rule of law, we can’t expect justice to serve itself. It’s the work of fearless activists, journalists, students and other leaders that enable our rights to assemble and express dissent remain protected.

While activists are arrested, detained and even threatened with deportation for exercising their constitutional rights, we will ensure their voices remain heard, and that the public never takes for granted that this isn’t normal.

While many nonprofits that receive government funds have crumbled under Trump’s anti-LGBTQ, anti-immigrant and anti-environmental agenda, we remain nimble and able to continue this work fearlessly because we are entirely independent. And that’s thanks to you!

** We don’t receive any corporate or government money, which means the only agenda we are beholden to is that of truth and justice. Help fund this critical work! ([link removed])

But with our fierce independence comes financial challenges. We don’t count on six-figure grants to keep us stable, so we have to rely on you, our audience.

Information is a public good. FAIR is critical of the shortcomings of public and corporate media, but Trump’s moves to dismantle any media that he disagrees with indicate an alarming desire to keep the people in the dark—and apathetic.

This is where nonprofit media like FAIR offers hope! Since 1986, we’ve been imagining a brighter future where the press upholds its democratic duty to truly inform and empower the public. The last thing our movement is is apathetic. We have the expertise and desire to keep speaking truth to power, but we still need funds to power our operation.

When you donate to FAIR, you are directly supporting our programs: Extra!, CounterSpin and FAIR.org. We keep our administrative costs and overhead low so that we can focus on this work.

We, as an organization and as individuals, are feeling the effects of this economic and political instability. We would never ask you to reach into your pocket and give us your last dollar, but if you are able to donate generously this summer, we would greatly appreciate your support.

In turn, we promise to keep shouting the truth.

Support our fight today! Thank you so much.

Sincerely,

Olivia, Janine, Jim & Julie

P.S. See if your employer offers matching gifts.
P.P.S. If you are unable to donate at this time, you can still help us out by spreading the word, signing up for our email network, and telling your loved ones to do the same! Visit our website FAIR.org for more.

FAIR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your donation is tax-deductible.
