Smoking, Vaping & Asthma: The Impact of Tobacco, E-Cigarette Aerosols, and Air Pollutants Using tobacco products can significantly worsen asthma symptoms and can lead to a more severe disease over time. Not only does the use of tobacco products lessen the effectiveness of asthma management medication, making asthma symptoms more difficult to control, but it can also worsen daily symptoms by irritating airways and reducing lung function.
