John – Republicans are so intent on waging a war against clean energy that they’re willing to sacrifice jobs in their own districts.
In April, $4.5 billion for clean energy projects was cancelled – bringing the total figure for canceled or delayed projects this year to over $14 billion. It’s no surprise why: market forecasts for clean energy are grim as Trump continues to do favors for his Big Oil backers.
But cancelling clean energy projects also means eliminating tens of thousands of good-paying jobs, including 13,000 jobs in Republican-held districts and a total of $12 billion cancelled in clean energy projects. Simply put: The GOP is sacrificing their constituents’ livelihoods to fall in line with Trump and Big Oil.
It’s clear that Republicans are unwilling to prioritize working families, choosing instead to appease Trump and oil lobbyists – but our SEEC members are cut from a different cloth. They’re dedicated to building a clean energy future and creating tens of thousands of jobs along with it, and building their ranks today gets us closer to that clean energy future. Can they count on your support today?

Although $14 billion has already been cancelled in clean energy projects this year, it’s not too late.
The reconciliation package that eliminates clean energy funding while giving a pass to fossil fuel polluters may have already passed the House, but the Senate has not yet voted on it. We can’t afford to be complacent right now – not when clean energy is on the line and other countries like China are leaps and bounds ahead of us.
Thanks to your help in 2024, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 119th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future.
