When I last reached out to you, the 2024 election had just shown us how deeply divided Americans are about our vision for our country. Today, we're seeing health care and basic necessities being ripped away from the people who need it most.

In times of upheaval, we need to look to what has always been true. And here's what I know for sure: More freedom is better than less. Some rights, like the right to make our own medical decisions, are nonnegotiable. And when more women are at the decision-making table, we all win.

I was thrilled to see that the very first 2025 endorsements EMILYs List made were for women running for governor. I'm here to tell you firsthand, John: We need more women in charge of our states.

Republicans haven't taken a day off from dismantling our democracy. So neither can we, in our work to get every last one of them out. There are EMILYs List women on the ballot as soon as next month, and the momentum from these elections will set the tone for midterms in 2026. Taking back power starts right here.
