Despite what some politicians want you to think, undocumented immigrants are a vital part of our society. They are our friends, family, and longstanding community members.

Undocumented immigrants make up a huge part of our essential workforce and do the jobs that we all should recognize as sacred and fundamental: harvesting the country’s food, building our roads and homes, and caring for the young, elderly, and ailing.

In the face of increasingly violent and dehumanizing rhetoric, our immigrant neighbors persevere in their pursuit of a better life, all while facing an outdated, backlogged immigration system. The real issue isn't immigrants — it's the lies we're told.

It’s important to stay vigilant against narratives that dehumanize our communities. Harmful and discriminatory policies are born out of these narratives, and we all have a role in dismantling them.
