When a colleague sent me this video, I didn’t believe his description. Would a Republican Senator who is up for re-election next year really respond to protesters concerned that Trump’s Medicaid cuts would kill people by saying “Well, we all are going to die”?

For weeks, Republicans have ducked answering questions about what would happen to the 14 million people who would lose health insurance as a result of the cuts in their Big Ugly Bill that cuts trillions in taxes for the wealthy.

Now, at a town hall in Iowa this week, Sen. Joni Ernst said out loud the only true answer―people are going to die, and they think that’s a fair price to let Elon Musk buy a bigger yacht.
