One of our own, and their dog, got hit by a car in their own neighborhood: this reality should be unacceptable. The defensive line for building a stadium at RFK is a weak one. Try out the new GGWash Junctions puzzle. TOPA is not the biggest barrier to building housing in the District, actually, so please don't nerf it. Meet our new Maryland policy manager, Mark Clements. Two new high schools are coming to Montgomery County.

This month, my dog and I became members of a not-so-exclusive club: the 60,000 pedestrians who will be injured in a car crash each year. In the process of writing about this I get stuck: I want to bring in some stories about car crashes, or people I know who were hurt or killed because of a driver’s actions, and there are so many.

“It’s an unprecedented private investment.” “The District is only paying for general infrastructure.” “The stadium will prevent housing development delays.” These, and other defenses of Mayor Muriel Bowser’s attempts to reinstall the Commanders at the RFK site, don’t hold up.

The fate of the Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act (TOPA) is on the table because of claims that it’s the biggest barrier to building housing in the District. We beg to differ.

This week on Do Something: two roads diverged on a football field; save a DIY music venue; school redistricting in Montgomery County; and march with us in World Pride already.
