Dear VCC Community,

The World Hates Those Who Refuse to Obey 

I watched a deep and thought-provoking video this week entitled – “ The World Hates Those Who Refuse to Obey ”.  The producer, identified as The Temporal Nomad, explores why true freedom is so disturbing. He says - “ When you refuse to obey, to simply follow what everyone else does, your existence becomes a dangerous mirror for those living on autopilot .”

“ Most people live according to other’s expectations. We are praised when we don’t question. Obedience is taught and cultivated. The one who follows rules without question is praised. The one who asks too many questions is scolded. Schools are the first laboratory of domestication .” 

Our schools, religions and political systems are not about freedom, but about control. To be free in this world is a crime. If you challenge things you are branded as difficult, selfish or dangerous. Witness the response to the freedom convoy.

Most people enjoy the comfort of a cage rather than thinking for themselves. Humility, obedience and submission can be appropriate under the right circumstances; however, likely as often as not, they are malapropos, not appropriate for the circumstances.

Think masking. 

In those cases, they are not virtuous, but of a slave morality.

For most, the presence of a free thinker is unsettling. They represent a crack in the consensus. Freedom requires courage. The free reveals another way of existing. The courage to think for yourself can shake the very foundations of a world built to tame you. 

But this is not new to all of you. You would not be reading the Choice Insider if you were someone committed to obedience and submission. You know the challenges of thinking for yourself. You know the pains when you shake the foundations of control. 

This week, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced that the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will no longer recommend that healthy children and pregnant women take COVID-19 vaccine shots. While this is a step in the right direction, this is not enough. Laura Hayes writes in an Age of Autism opinion - “ In our nation, cucumbers, cribs, cantaloupes, and car seats are recalled and withdrawn from the market when they cause injury, illness, and death, but not the scores of vaccines which are harming, making chronically ill, disabling, and killing babies in the womb, infants, toddlers, children, teens, and people of all ages every single day. Sheer lunacy .”

A dramatic shift is needed. This shift will not happen if we obey, comply and remain silent. We need to vocally challenge the current consensus. Thank you all for being free thinkers. Thank you for being unwilling to be silenced.
