Controversial School Vouchers Included as Budget Bill Heads to Senate
The House passed a sweeping tax and spending bill and in the next few weeks the Senate will decide its fate.
Nestled inside the bill is The Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA), a bill that would divert tax money to school voucher programs that would benefit private and religious schools.
To oppose this harmful measure, SCA is organizing a national lobbying week. You'll have the opportunity to contact your Senators both in-person and online to let them know you oppose this bill. We’ll update you with more details soon!
SCOTUS Weighs in on Religious Freedom
The Supreme Court blocked funding for what would have been the nation’s first religious charter school The vote was 4-4.
Still pending are two key cases that could significantly impact religious freedom:

Anti-Christian Bias Taskforce Targets Non-Christian Government Workers
Earlier this month, The White House created the Commission on Religious Liberty and the Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias.
Among many problematic items, the Commission on Religious Liberty will create “a report” on religious liberty in America, seemingly in an effort to convince Americans that America was founded as a Christian nation.
The Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias will target federal employees who “discriminate” against Christians. This “discrimination” could range anywhere from accepting LGBTQ+ employees to complaining if coworkers proselytize at the desk next to you.
